French Original of Brazilian Jazz classic on the SARAVAH label. Produced by Yves ‘les masques’ Chamberland recorded in Paris. Superb playing by Martins, Lobo and Serra. Cover has very faint writing on the front cover and a light price sticker residue on the back.

French promo only 12″ issue of dance floor Classic. Originally thought to be a 7″ only release, well here is the proof that the 12″ exists. ‘The Harmony Cats were a female vocal quintet formed in Sao Paolo, Brazil in the late 70′s. Originally dubbed “The Bandits of Love,” the band was rechristened “The Harmony Cats” by producer/artistic director Helio Costa Manso. His idea was to have the quintet perform disco versions of rock songs, themes from classic films, and Broadway musicals.
The band went on to great success in disco-era Brazil. Once disco fizzled out, however, the band wasn’t as fortunate. By 1985, the band was finished.
Not much else is known about them, but they left a dancefloor classic behind with 1977′s “Cat’s Theme.” Kon and Amir included this gem on their Kings of Diggin’ compilation’. SUPER RARE.

Super rare french only compilation of original Afro funk goodies, all recorded by the ARTISTE AFRICAINS ASSOCIÉS (paris) in the 70s. Not much is know about AAA as this record is so scarce, but what is known is that its fkg fantastic. Just check the audio for a taster of the amazing tracks on here. Some of you will be familiar with the Alan Shelly masterpiece ‘Maché’ which we were lucky enough to have a copy for sale some time back. First ever copy found by me, and one of a couple know. If you already own this record, i’m sure you don’t ask yourself ‘is this one of the best ever records ever made’ because you know the answer. This is the best copy of this all time masterpiece that i’ve ever found. Even tho DEBUT pressings have the same reputation as the worst BYG pressings – this copy is a fantastic listen. Plays with occasional noise (as with all DEBUT orig) but with a super deep/warm and luscious sound. The version of ‘summertime’ is undoubtedly one of the best, with its drunken avant goodness that brings you into a world comparable to ‘blade runner’ meets ‘cat on a hot tin roof”. One of THE best records ever recorded. In all my years as a record Hunter this is THE best copy ive ever seen. So, don’t delay, you’re chance to hear the birth of avant cool jazz – buy today :)
